So the kids and I were just sat around listening to The Beatles (as you do when trying to entertain a 3 year old and a 1 year old). After a while I decide we've had enough and switch it off. 'But we were only up to number 22' says Digby. Baring in mind that the screensaver came on after about track 3 I ask 'How do you know which number it was?' but he doesn't reply. I tap the mouse to bring iTunes back up and low and behold he is absolutely spot on, it is number 22.
I ask him again and he looks up at me, thinks for a second and says 'Because that's the one when JoJo gets back'!
I ask him random track names and he tells me the track numbers. He gets every one of them right!
Here are a few images of the kids from the last couple of days. It seems you can make some great looking photos with cheap kids kaleidoscopes.
The last three years of my life have been somewhat hectic. I've worked in a horribly stressful job, working ridiculously long hours and, for the last 6 months, spending far too many evenings away from home. During this time my wife and I have been trying to raise our two wonderful sons, who I will call C and D from here on in.
So my wife has gone to restart her career and I've swapped a stressful job where interesting things might happen ("today I visited all 5 countries of the UK and Ireland in a less that 9 hours") for a different kind of stressful where, let's face it, less interesting things are likely to happen ("today we had corned beef toasties for lunch, but saying as I was making them for the kids I sweated the onions first"). See what I mean?
I've no idea what C, D and I will be getting up to, but good or bad, exciting or boring, I'll be tweeting about our exploits through my Twitter account @takenpictures. So please follow me if you want to find out what we get up to each day.
This Posterous blog will hopefully act as a place for me to write longer posts where I can reflect on what we've been up to and how I'm reacting to my new role.
I've always been a bit of a creative type and I'm hoping my time at home will allow me to get to grips with two of my long lost passions, painting and songwriting. So you never know, there might be something worth coming back for after all?
